It’s official. The winners of Fond du Lac Festival’s third annual Light Up the City Contest has been determined. First place goes to Dean and Lisa Krueger, and their children (Jake, Nathan, Aaron, Marissa, and Lexie) of 610 E. Johnson Street who will receive $500. Second place, who will receive $350, goes to David and Jo Stanley of N7372 Michigan Street. Third place, who will receive $150, goes to Larry Hartfiel of 135 Ellis Street. The lucky winners of the Walleye Weekend Packages go to our fourth place winner, Angel Siedschlag of 516 Boyd Street; as well as, our fifth place winner, Rod and Gail Kriewaldt of 600 Boyd Street.
By submitting entry forms, photos, and descriptions of their decorations, to the Fond du Lac Festival’s office, local community members became eligible to win. Once all of the entry forms were submitted a committee was formed to choose the top five entries based on the submitted entry forms. Then the committee personally viewed all of the homes to determine the winners. The Reporter added their assistance by printing the top five houses and a ballet for the community to voice their opinion on whom the winners should be. The selected houses could also be viewed on The Reporters and Fond du Lac Festivals website.
Mary Ann Dilling, Executive Director of Fond du Lac Festivals, said, “It was wonderful having the input from the community. It was also great that so many people took the time to drive by and cast their ballots. It was evident that the homeowners spent a lot of time perfecting their holiday decoration and even better, that more people had the opportunity to enjoy them.”
