Runners taking part in the Walleye Weekend Run/Walk

The Run more properly described as the Walleye Weekend Run and Walk is celebrating its 29th Anniversary as part of the Walleye Weekend Festival.

Approximately 500 runners participated in the first Walleye Run and the event has grown to attract more than 3,000 participants. These 3,000 Walleye Weekend Run/Walk participants of past years are testimony to the increased awareness and popularity of walking for fitness and sheer fun.

Many of the state's top competitors are expected to participate in the 2008 Run and Walk in Fond du Lac on June 7th.

The event includes what is known as the largest youth run in the state with runners aged 12 and under taking part in one of four runs.

Please see registration for more information regarding details and prize information. All finish results are posted on the grounds, the results to be on display in the North Shelter- East side of Oven Island.

Proceeds benefit The Fond du Lac Running Club and Newspapers in Education.
