The Reporter Walleye Run/Walk is celebrating its 31st anniversary with Walleye Weekend this year.
The Run/Walk event has grown from 500 participants in 1980 to more than 2,000 over the years. Run/Walk participants of past years are testimony to the increased awareness and popularity of running and walking for fitness and sheer fun.
Many of the area's top competitors are expected to participate in the 2010 Run/Walk at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac on June 12th. Events for adults include a 5-mile or 2-mile run, along with a 3-mile family walk.
The highlight of the event includes over 600 youth runners annually, aged 12 and under, taking part in race distances of either 1 mile or 1/3 mile.
Please see the brochure with registration details and entry form for more information. All finish results are posted on the grounds, the results to be on displayed in the South Shelter - East side of Oven Island. Results will be posted online by June 20 on The Reporter, Fond du Lac Running Club and Fond du Lac Festivals Web sites.
Proceeds benefit The Fond du Lac Running Club and Newspapers in Education.
