Walleye Weekend Co-Chairs
Kelly Norton – Senior Co-Chair
Kelly lives in Fond du Lac with her husband, Tyler and three children, Hazen, Sophie, and Reese. Originally from Brownsville, Wisconsin, she regularly volunteers and attends Walleye Weekend with her family and friends. “My favorite element of the festival is the sheer variety of options – everything from watching the Pier Pups, to the athletic tournament play, to an amazing family zone, to fishing weigh-in, to music… and of course, the food. There really is something for everyone!” Kelly exclaimed. Norton is also an all-around advocate of both celebrating and growing the Fond du Lac Community. She is a proud member of the Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund, the First Tee of Southeast Wisconsin, Fond du Lac Morning Rotary, and an alumni of Leadership Fond du Lac. You may find Norton in the Fond du Lac Morning Rotary beer tent, either serving or being served, depending which band is on the big stage.
Kelly serves as Senior Director of Enterprise Culture & Communication at Grande Cheese Company, located right here in Fond du Lac. Grande’s Culture is based on pride in professional excellence, respect for rights of Associates, and fulfillment of a purpose greater than ourselves.
Dave Hopper – Senior Co-Chair
Like Norton, Dave Hopper has fond memories of Walleye Weekend. “My favorite memory was when Mercury Marine sponsored the inflatable boat race on the lake. We raced inflatable Quicksilver boats with a Mercury 9.9 hp engine, and we had to complete 8 laps. I was so close to winning, but was still excited to finish in 2nd place.” Hopper was born and raised, and still resides in Fond du Lac with his wife Amy; son, Adam, and daughter, Taylor. Dave is also excited to follow in his father’s (Mark Hopper) footsteps, as Walleye Weekend Co-Chair in ’08 and ’09. You will find both Dave and his whole family in the Merchandise Tent at Walleye Weekend, all weekend long.
Dave, along with the Hopper Family have owned and operated Hopper’s Screen Printing & All Star Trophy in the Fond du Lac area since 1978. The Hopper Family have not forgotten their humble beginnings and are very proud and honored to serve their customers and friends. Community is very important to them and they are great supporters of local groups, teams, churches, charities, and businesses.
Matt Moses – Junior Co-Chair
Matt lives in Fond du lac with his wife, Maggie Millin Moses, and two children, Madelyn and Myles. He was born and raised in Fond du Lac where he attended St. Mary’s Springs. Matt grew up working at his family’s gas station, Ma and Pa’s, which is best known for selling winning lottery tickets including a $208 million winner sold by Matt himself. He regularly attended Walleye Weekend as a kid, playing 3 on 3 basketball, Walleye ball (softball) and competing in the Walleye Run/Walk. Matt’s wife, Maggie is a member of Fond du Lac Morning Rotary, so you will find Matt volunteering at their tent during the weekend, as well!
“My favorite part about Walleye Weekend is getting the opportunity to see family, friends and acquaintances, all in one spot. It is great being able to support different organizations in the community that do so much to give back to others. With so much going on all weekend, everyone can find something to enjoy at Walleye Weekend, no matter their interests!” shares Matt.
Matt is a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones where he helps hardworking individuals and families put a strategy in place to help reach their financial goals and dreams.
